REPAIR DETAILS

1 fault code in the powertrain control module. P261B- Engine coolant pump B control fault. I researched this code and found a Technical service bulletin, T-SB-0143-10 this bulletin states that there is an updated water pump assembly that corrects this issue. It also has you disconnect the engine water pump connector and test for battery voltage on the D13 connector pin 1. This is a blue wire that should have battery voltage with the ignition on. I tested for battery voltage on this wire and found that I have 11.8 volts being supplied to the water pump. The TSB then states to replace the engine water pump and thermostat assembly. The thermostat housing where it meets up to the water pump is leaking coolant. I took these notes from the car diagnostic
