While traveling on I10 my car lost power and shut down as I was exiting a rest stop. A very loud rattling noise began and after coasting to a stop in a parking space , I immediately turned the ignition off. There was no overheating and just had oil change so I didn't understand the loss of power. Due to the noise I refused to start engine and instead had towed to the dealership I purchased the vehicle from. The dealer and 3 other certified BMW repair shop stated the car needed a new engine and failed to diagnose the cause due to the noise when started and expense to take apart for an accurate assessment. This has all occurred in a 14 mo. time period due to Covid delaying appts. as well as rural location.
